New Thumbs Up Facebook Smiley!

As a normal geek I tend to talk in Emoticons, especially on Facebook. As much as I hate it, I do use smiley faces as full stops :( (See what I did there?)

Anyway, while talking to a mate on Facebook I agreed with what he said so, naturally, typed (Y)… and viola! I discovered a brand new facebook smiley.. the ‘Thumbs Up’!

To use this simply do the same keyboard character key as you would on MSN…. (Y)

‘The Game’ is extremely simple and addictive, whilst able to cause annoyance and suffering at the same time. Simply thinking about ‘The Game’ causes one to lose it.

Rules (from Wikipedia)

There are three rules to The Game:

Everyone in the world is playing The Game. (Sometimes narrowed to: “Everybody in the world who knows about The Game is playing The Game”,^[4] or alternatively, “You are always playing The Game.”) You cannot not play The Game; it does not require consent to play and you can never stop playing.

Whenever one thinks about The Game, one loses.

Losses must be announced to at least one person (either by using a statement such as “I Lost The Game” or by alternative means).

The common rules do not define a point at which The Game ends. However, one reported variation states that The Game ends when the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom announces on television that “The Game is up.”After you have announced your loss, some variants allow for a grace period, during which you cannot lose the game, which varies in time. Note, however, that the grace period is not part of the three official rules.

Origins

‘The Game’ was invented by members of the Cambridge University Science Fiction Society in 1977 who met on a regular basis to drink and discuss game theory.

Online Apperance

Since making it’s first debut on the Interweb, ‘The Game’ has spread like Bird Flu on speed. Its first known appearance was on Paul Taylor of West Midland’s blog in 2002.

As with anything that goes viral online, ‘The Game’ exploded in such the way that it did down to its simplicity. Simply saying “The Game” instantly causes everyone within earshot to lose – whether that be your close friend on MSN, or all of your 500 odd friends on Facebook. Even if someone isn’t aware that they are playing, they have now thought about ‘The Game’ so have automatically lost.

‘The Game’ will never fade out online either as there is always one person (normally me!) that enjoys screwing with peoples minds ;-)

Other Responses

One of my favourite versions of playing ‘The Game’ is where someone makes one loose the game, after a long and sometimes awkward diversion, so the loser is not expecting what is about to hit him…

Example:

You will never believe what happened to me this morning! I was waking up and doing my morning routine, eat breakfast, take a shower, brush my teeth, that sort of thing. When I was about to get changed, I saw something in my window that looked a little strange. I went to look and there he was, a man was staring through my window on a ladder!Just as soon as he knew I saw him he started climbing down the ladder and I ran for the door outside. On my way out I grabbed the bat I keep under my bed. When I got outside I saw him running down my block and I began chasing after him. We ran for nearly 10 minutes and reached some woods. Then from there we ran another 15 until I lost sight of him.

Lost, in the middle of the woods, chasing a peeping Tom. I knew something like this could only happen to me.

The search seemed over when a bit deeper in the woods I heard the man scream. I ran out there and saw him sitting on the ground a good distance away from me. As I got closer I could see he had gotten his foot stuck in a bear trap! Actually I’m not so sure it was a bear trap because it was a bit smaller but you get the point. I walked up to him with my bat and said the sweetest one liner I could think up on the spot.

“Game over” and I hit him in the face with my bat. He began to sob a bit as he held his bleeding nose, but to my surprise he began to laugh. This startled me so I hit him again and said “what’s funny?!” and he said, “read the first word of all the last paragraphs.”

Lady Pa-sta

As many of you know, I have quite an obsession when it comes to Lady Gaga, so seeing this video made my day. Taking on a fantastic parody of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, Lauren (from Key of Awesome) sings along about different types of pasta and cooking methods. Well worth a watch whether you love Gaga, or despise Gaga!

Hello world!!

I really want to get this blog on the road now (over a year after the last post… xD). So thanks to some encouragement from @likessheepbaa, from the amazing Hannah Likes Sheep *baa* blog, I am going to! :) This post is more to test a new feature rather then anything else, but while I’m at it I want to take the chance to share a review about an AWESOME movie that caught my eye recently: Dinner for Schmucks (click to view details!).

Steve Carell is by far one of my most favourite comedy actors, and he has a perfect role which allows him to show off his talents.

Hey all,

Rather then a normal photo, I’ve decided to add a bit of a slideshow this week.
The slideshow contains photos taken by other people, none by myself. It’s from the Sweden trip I went on with the Outdoor Academy of Sweden… I had a greattt time there and did so much in so little time! White Water Rafting, Horse Riding, Trekking, Ate Reindeer, Boat Ride, Ate Reindeer burgers, tour of the Ice Hotel factory…. LOADSSSSSSSS :)

Welcome to the 2nd entry of my photo blog!

This week was hectic with work being busy, then virtually the whole of Dartford, Crayford and Bexley lost power… Which made work even more hectic what with people coming from all over to purchase Gas Stoves, Lanterns, and wind up torches!!
Needless to say that we sold out amazingly quickly and arranged for an emergency delivery of more stoves and gas.. The bad part was there was hardly any gas available so old muggins here volunteered to go to Holborn and St Pauls to pick some up… It is amazing how much 90 canisters of gas weighs! :( it was a miracle that I didn’t get stopped and searched… That would have been fun explaining ;)

I’ll attach an image later as I don’t really want to open a holdall of gas in the middle of a train!

Hey hey! :D

Today I’ve decided to start a weekly entry on here containing a photo which highlights a part of what I’ve been up to that week :)

I’ll start today with my new toy… An iPhone! I purchased the new iPhone 3G [S] a few days ago and loving it so much that I’ve decided that it is what I’m going to use to post these!

Gotta cut this short today as my curry is on it’s way, so here is this weeks pic :)
